Linda Hogan is a Chickasaw storyteller, poet, novelist, playwright, and environmentalist. ‘Mean Spirit’ was her first novel, about the Osage tribe during the Oklahoma oil boom. It was nominated for a Pulitzer Prize for Fiction in 1991.
