Dorothy Livesay was a Canadian lyric poet, known for her intimate reflection and sensitivity. She also wrote short fiction, autobiography, and literary criticism. Livesay was a social worker in Montreal during the Depression and her experiences doing this work deeply informed her writing. Collected Poems: The Two Seasons was published in 1972 and is her major collection of poetry.
