Daughters, Paule Marshall. Plume Contemporary Fiction, 1992.

Vintage softcover. Very light shelfwear. Some corner creasing. No markings inside. Very good condition.

Paule Marshall was an American novelist and short story writer whose work centred ethnicity, race, and colonialism. Her work reflected her own upbringing as a child of immigrants from Barbados. She wrote strong female protagonists, and has been described as a “critical bridge” between earlier Black women writers like Zora Neale Hurston and Gwendolyn Brooks and the next wave of Black women writers like Toni Morrison and Jamaica Kincaid (The New York Times, 2019).
