Vintage paperbacks. Covers have some shelf wear with minor nicks, scratching at edges. The Italian Girl is in fair condition and has creasing at bottom right and top right, and a slant to the spine which is crease and some damage to the ends. The Nice and the Good has some creasing at bottom right of cover, and a slant to the spine which is creased. Back covers have some light creasing at corners with some signs of shelf wear. Flight of the Enchanter has creasing at bottom right with previous pricing sticker at bottom right as well. Set is overall good condition.
Iris Murdoch was an Irish and British writer whose stories were admired for their intelligence and wit. Her plots were typically convoluted with multiple characters representing diverse philosophical positions. She had a knack for analyzing and articulating the complexities in sexual relationships, morality, and the power of the unconscious. In addition to the 26 novels she published, Murdoch wrote plays and literary criticism.
