All books have signs of light shelf wear and light scratching at edges. The Mandelbaum Gate, The Prime of Miss Jean Brodie, The Hothouse by the East River and the Takeover have previous pricing sticker at bottom of back cover. Mandelbaum Gate has some creasing at top right corner of cover along with sticker at top of flyleaf. The Ballad of Peckham Rye has inscription in red ink on flyleaf. Hothouse by the East River has mark from previous sticker at top right of cover and has a bookstore stamp at top of flyleaf along with some water damage at top right corner which affects the first half of book. The Driver's Seat has inscription at top of flyleaf. The Takeover has a crease at center spine side of front and back cover. 

Muriel Spark was a Scottish novelist, poet, and essayist whose writing had a major impact on modern literature, particularly through her depictions of intelligent and unconventional women confronting restrictive social expectations. Born in Edinburgh, Spark became known for a literary style marked by sharp satire, dark comedy, and keen psychological insight.
